The ear is a very sensitive organ; it is the house of one of the most important senses of the human body – the auditory sense. Due to its delicate nature, there are several problems that can occur with the human ear. One of the most common problems occurs when the ear gets infected. In severe cases, pus formation may occur. First thing to ease the pain is applying warmth. A blow dryer set on low in the ear, a hot wheat bag or hot water bottle. This will almost instantly relieve the pain in the ear. A warm moist towel also works wonder. Others suggest warming a plate, wrapping it in a towel and placing it under the aching ear.

Continuous exposure to other children increases the risk that your child will catch more colds, and consequently more ear infections. Crowded daycare settings are a set up for germ sharing. If possible, switch your child to a small, home daycare setting. This will lower the risk.
